(Un)Button

Apparently unbuttoning is on for men. Hmm, I don't know how accurate that is since when I hear such and such is 'on' I mostly see it in the magazine/show but not much around. But Details say it may be on for the spring, I like Details, so maybe it's on after all.

Details: If your chest is the first thing people notice when you walk into a room, you've probably overdone something," says Tommy Fazio, men's fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman, who notes that the skin resurgence isn't about baring it all—just specific parts of your body.

Me: I agree, it only makes Jude looks sleazier and greasier.

Details: Giving the traditional suit and tie the finger is an enticing proposition, but loosening up without looking like a slob or a sleaze is a delicate operation. There's a difference between gracefully revealing a little chest like Tom Ford (or, for that matter, a flash of ankle like Thom Browne) and channeling white-polyester-era Barry Gibb.

Me: I think Kanye does it well, I like his style alot. The look would be better with a tattoo across the chest. I think with a neck/chest tattoo a man can unbutton more than usual.

Details: Dolce & Gabbana took the flesh feast a step further, presenting silky, shirtless, pajama-like suits accented with nothing more than a scarf tucked beneath the jacket

Me: Too efiminate, even a tattoo of jesus won't save it.

Details: And on your next trip to an island, try out a V-neck sweater without a shirt underneath. But beware of indecent exposure. When your girlfriend tells you your cleavage looks better than hers, you've gone too far.

Me: He shows more skin than Jude, but the difference here is that the skin isn't the first thing you notice.
